Hingvadi churna is a mixture of herbal powder, kshara and salt used in the management of Digestive system related problems.
Indication: Flatulence, pain abdomen, loss of appetite, indigestion, constipation, hiccup, Low back ache, cough, asthma and piles.
Dose : 2 to 3 grams, three times daily before or after food before or after food as directed by physician.
Adjuvent( Anupana): Takra(Buttermilk) or warm water.
Side effects: May induce gastric irritation in higher dose, Used with caution in hypertensive patients as it contain salt.

Method of preparation: The above ingredients 1 to 24 are powdered separately and mixed together, then soaked in ardraka swarasa and dried under shade, next matulunga swarasa used for soaking and dried under shade.
Method of Storage: Stored in airtight container in dry place.
Shelf life period: Around 6 month.

Ayurvedic properties of Hingvadi churna:
Roga karma: Adhmana, grahaniHrithshula, Parshwashula, basthishula, trikashula, yonishula, gudhashula, vata or amaja or in kaphaja shula, kashtasadya gulma, vatamalamutra sanga, galagraha, hrithgraha, atuchi, plihavikara, arshas, hikka, antravriddi, adhmana, shwasa, kasa and mandagni.
Dosha karma: Vatakaphahara.
Agni karma: Deepana, pachana
Other karma: Vatanulomaka, ruchya and srotoavarodahara.
Manufacturers: Zandu pharmaceuticals.
