Katakakhadiradi Kashayam is a concentrated decoction prepared out of herbal ingredients, which consist of water soluble active principles.
Indication: Useful in the management of diabetes and its complication and skin diseases.
Adjuvant: Chandraprabha vati.
Dose: Kashayam 5 – 15 ml diluted with 15 – 45 ml of water twice daily before food or as directed by physician. Kashyam Tablet – 1 to 2 tablets twice daily.
Side effects: No known side effects, over dose may induce gastric irritation. Use this medicine under medical supervision.

Method of preparation of Katakakhadiradi Kashayam: Herbal ingredients (coarse powder) 1 part boiled in 16 parts of water and reduced to 4 part.
Method of Storage: Stored in airtight container in dry place.

Roga karma: Pramehagna, medohara and kustagna.
Dosha karma: Kaphahara.
Agni karma: Deepana.
Other karma: Lekhana and kledahara.

Katakakhadiradi kashayam is more effective then the tablet. If you are using for a long duration, better you can prepare kashayam by boiling the all ingredients of Katakakhadiradi kashayam. Because the market available kashayam and tablets contain preservatives in long run it is not good for health.
